Do Acans Sting, Consume Eachother? Chalices?

I've seen a lot of aquariums with acan lords right next to each other, but I've heard a few people say they shouldn't be too close to each other or they will consume one another. I'm somewhat new to acans and currently have 4 acan lords and a japanese micro. Can they touch or not? If not, how far apart should they be?I also have a few chalices. Can they be placed right next to other chalices, sps, etc?Thanks...

Acan lords won't hurt each other. They are often placed right next to each other. Chalices on the other hand will MURDER each other. Beware of neighbors...

So how far do chalices need to be from their neighbors? Will they kill sps?

enchinata acans are stingers look at what mine did to a lord acan frag that i have..the whole piece was covered but not anymore!

Watch your chalices at night and you'll see how far the tentacles can reach... We've got small 1.5" frags that can put out over 4" feelers at night. Each chalice is completely different.

And yes, they will SMOKE SPS. Or pretty much anything they come in contact with, for that matter.

hmm, I may have to try one of the chalices with an emperor angel as I have more room in my 300 gal sps tank to keep them distanced from other corals.

I've seen the sweeper tentacles at night and all the chalices are within the same area on the sand as seperated as I can get them in a packed 40 breeder.
