Do acrylic tanks bow?

My friend got one from a coworker. Upon filling it up with water to test for leaks we noticed the panels bowing out....this was confirmed with a straightedge. I know glass doesnt bow, but does acrylic?

Yes Acrylic can bow quite a bit actually.

Who are you talking to stedfast? Me? My info came from my limited personal experience. Maybe glass does bow, I just haven't noticed it on the relatively small tanks I've owned. However, I noticed this 65g acrylic tank bowing on the two longest panels, so I thought I'd ask some of you that had more experience.

Depending on the thickness. I have a 1" acrylic no bowing
