Do bully fish ever get friendly again?

I have 2 rescued green chromis and one of them is becoming a bully. He only chases the other smaller chromis. Today I scooped him out and put him in the aquafuge box. I wanted to rehome him but it might not worth the hassle having to drive 1 hour to LFS just to donate a $5 fish. Maybe after a while he will behave and the other chromis will get bigger? What's your experience?

It's not that they're bullies, it's just their natural instinct. The bigger they get, the worse they behave usually.

I had a yellow tang that started bullying and after putting him in the sump for 2 days he changed his attitude as has been a good boy ever since.

Some may if you rearrange the rock work or change the tank dynamic. Unfortunately, with Chromis, they will usually fight until there is only one left.

Depends on type of fish, like others have said chromis will always fight
