Do Red and Green Leds Cause Algae?

The Hydra 52 has green and red leds and the led fixtures are talked about as the best led fixtures to have. So is red and green really that bad as people say they are?

I see that some people prefer violet and lime over green and red. Thoughts?

I wouldnt say they "cause" but maybe will more likely promote algae growth

The hydra 52 only has a couple of red and green LED lights. The majority of the lights are UV, violet, royal blue and blue with the remainder being cool white. The red and green lights are there to tweek the look. Unless you run them at 100 percent, I doubt that they would have a noticeable impact.
