So I purchased a new tank assuming it would be the same size as my stand at 36”. Seems my tank is less than 1/8th larger than the stand. Will this difference be a major problem down the road? Should I drain the tank and move a bit so the difference is 1/16th on each side? My tank is 65 gallons. Thanks in advance for any opinions.

I'm certainly no expert, but I might center it on the stand. If it is only overhanging by a 1/16th, that might be ok. If you want to be on the super safe side, you could cut a sheet of 1/2" plywood to the exact size or bigger, seal it and edge band it, and put it under the tank on top of the stand. You could put an aquarium leveling mat under it if you drain it, also.

Again, maybe someone smarter than me has a better opinion.
