Haha. Thread jack in progress. I could possibly be interested in your skimmer. What is the footprint? I'm building my sump fuge and the skimmer I have is making my life difficult. Is that w the pump?

No he mentioned it for op. He has skimmer. Pump hidden in the rocks and I'm guessing its probably needing to be cleaned but hasn't been since buried in the rocks. Therefore lacking in performance. The swc I linked earlier you. Wouldn't need to add another tank.

I was never happy with my remora. I finally got my DIY cone skimmer dialed in and it produces more crap in two days the the remora did in two weeks sometimes. IMO keep a skimmer on the system, chuck the remora and spend the money on a good skimmer. You won't regret it.

I know, but I do not want another hob skimmer, I want an external or in sump skimmer.

That mud is detritus... Siphon that stuff out.

If you got an external skimmer you wouldn't need the additional tank to drill. Drilling a 10G requires lots of patience and 3 or 4 tanks ;)

I have drilled a ten gallon before, that wont be a problem. I drilled 6 holes before it cracked (practice tank, lol)
