I was getting really erratic, inconsistent, and jumping salinity readings and thought it was due to placement (bubbles/debris/detritus/crap) interfering with the readings, but nothing I did seemed to fix the problem. I used the googles and came across an older thread that noted that power lines interfere with the conductivity probe. So I re-routed my probe cables and, viola, readings are very consistent now.
Just thought I'd throw that out there in case anyone else is having difficulties/frustrations.
