I’m still learning what the best combination of settings is with my gyres. I’ve had it on the lunar tidal cycle for a few weeks an this has done reasonably well but the cycles are too short and the flow doesn’t get as far as I need it too.

So as I’ve been experimenting, and it seems every time I make an adjustment to the flow the Naso tang in particular freaks out.
It also happened when I made the switch from WAVs to gyres.
Went away after a few days.

He starts darting and flashing and just acting weird.

Is this normal?

Yeah; sounds about normal. It would be like someone tweaking your A/C fan all the time; you'd likely act a bit weird as well. ;-)

Signs to be concerned about are things like swimming into the flow (fish may do this in an effort to increase the flow through the gills to get more oxygen). But if the behavior is more erratic and returns to normal after a short time, it's likely just a, "whoa - what's going on?!?" kind of thing.
