Thought this would be an interesting/fun thread!

I've noticed at my LFS (and in my own tank) that some Ricordea's will completely split, while others will just grow more mouths. Please vote!

Both! Mine seem to usually split after two mouths, but occassionally will get 3 or 4 mouths. Sometimes i use a razor blade to encourage things....

all of the ricordeas i've ever owned have never split. just grew more mouths. i never had the guts to cut them to encourage splitting

They really are quite hardy. I try to get both sides to attach to different frag plus so dont have the hassle of either of them being free floating... then just a quick swipe of razor blade between them.

My R. florida grow multiple mouths and only split rarely. My R. yuma never grow multiple mouths and propagate by pedal laceration.

All of my mushrooms have split except one. The green ones on top are about 2.5 - 3.0 wide and came from a much smaller one I got in March. The 3 darker orange ones in a row came from a single mushroom I also got in March and one of them has multiple mouths now, so I think it will split again soon.

I want that yellow one!

I am thinking of buying a godzilla. The pics show one that looks to be splitting but only has one mouth. He has several and can only see pics. I can get a single cheaper that I like more but the one that looks to be splitting would be worth more. Does anyone know for sure that godzillas split.
