I bleached some rock from my tank. I then used vinegar to detox the bleach, but I still feel like I can smell some bleach.

The question is ... can I just let the rocks sit in the sun for a while and if there is some bleach left, will it disappear altogether to be safe for the reef tank?

Yes, just let them sit in the sun for a couple days and dry out. If they still smell like bleach, might want to do a FW soak with some prime, then let dry again.

But to answer the original question....

Bleach is pretty benign once gassed off(allowed to evaporate)

Just a quick and dirty google search:

Is bleach still active after drying?
Laundry Bleach (Sodium Hypochlorite) decomposes into Water, Salt and Free Oxygen. It is highly unlikely that any actual bleach residue remains on clothes after the wash cycle completes.
Yes I know that says laundry, but the same would apply to your rocks.

When to mix up fish meal: When was the last time you tried a different brand of food for your reef?
