So I have an over flow box rated for 1200 gph. Does it matter how many 1” bulkheads I need to achieve this flow?

Yes
And just because your overflow box is rated for 1200gph, that doesn’t mean that’s what you should run
How big is tank?
What kind of overflow?

Also what type of overflow? A lot more water goes through a 1" bulkhead at full siphon than not!

I just have the the 1200 gph box I got from eBay. I already have it set up with one 1” bulkhead. My tank is a 90 gallon, it sure doesn’t seem like it’s draining 1200 gph.

I just have the 1200 gph small black box I got from eBay. I already set it up with one 1” bulkhead. My tank is a 90 gallon, but it sure don’t seem like it’s draining 1200 gph. I have to reduce the return flow a lot.

Welcome aboard!

Even if it's full siphon, I would imagine you aren't draining more than 600gph.

Please post a pic.

We are here to help.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I think the dimensions are 6.5x3.5 and 5 “ in depth. Here’s a picture. How do I get more flow? Another bulkhead or a bigger overflow box?

That’s a hob (hang on back) overflow. Not the safest option.
For a 90 gal tank would recommend 5x display tank volume per hour. Which would be around 450 gph. Figure in head height when determining return pump size. That overflow can handle that amount easily.

No. It's an in the tank box. I drilled a hole and silliconed the box on the inside. There are two hob filters one on each side of my overflow box. Right in the middle.

Thanks, but it's an in the tank overflow box. I drilled a hole for a 1" bulkhead and silliconed the box inside. I have 2 hob filters one on each side of the overflow box for extra filtration.
