Noticed the last few nights, around "sunset", the Mandarin has been swimming up to the top of the tank and floating around a bit.

I dose Phyto daily and if I don't scrape the glass daily, there's little white 'pods all over it pretty much immediately.

90 gal with lots of live rock, 1 year old tank. Mandarin is about 6 mo old from Biota.

But, usually it hangs out picking at rocks and I want to make sure nothing is amiss. These guys are next to impossible to photograph, but here's a few angles.

That is a nice looking Mandarin Gobi. I have two I got from Biota in 2023. They were tiny when I got them but now they are a good size. I am not seeing anything unusual based on your photos or description.

Look up mating dance, could be practicing. Or whenever mines got a full belly it's more apt to kinda float around for fun.
