Look I get nature is nature, but for someone to create this kind of a circumstance where they put a beautiful Possum Wrasse in the same holding tank as an Angler Fish and then moved the rockwork out of the way so it had nowhere to hide was just plain cruel. I guess I am a softie for wrasses though:

Yeah I would never do that. In fact I have two different species of possum wrasse in qt right now and they are definitely not on anyone's menu. They're so timid though I'm still not sure which tank they're going in.

I wouldn't do it, mainly because it's a waste of a more valuable, probably less plentiful species. But just to play devil's advocate, what's the difference which species is the food? Would we object if it was a feeder molly or a ghost shrimp? Carnivores gotta eat too. :D

I think you said it yourself, because it's a waste of a less plentiful species. Compare the amount of feeder shrimp at the LFS to the amount of any specific fish. Hopefully no one would object to feeding shrimp to an angler.

Bad thing is the description lists a fish store... maybe the fish was injured or dying, but why post that?!?

That was what really pushed me over the top as well, the fact that people who should know better created this circumstance (this wasn't some newbie who randomly screwed up). I agree it's possible that the fish was injured or dying and I suppose it's possible the wrasse could've jumped in the tank, but I agree that filming it wasn't the best policy. I definitely won't be visiting that store if I am in the area.

That I would be okay with because it's more of a natural food source to an angler and the population is far more abundant than a possum wrasse.

Still pretty lousy. I don't need to see such violence. Just so some A hole could post it

Yeah, I get wanting to post vids (I have a channel of my own) but to me this is the equivalent of the news reporter that stages/exaggerates tragedies just to get headlines.

They had the possum on their FS list...maybe they forgot the wrasse was there? Looks like they video each fish in QT. May have just been filming the angler to post it FS....moved a rock that was in the way and...bam.

I have a hard time believing the Rock was in the way as the Angler was clearly in front of it. It would've been one thing had the Angler swam behind it and they moved it but it wasn't. It sure looks like they literally moved the rock out of the way so the Angler could get to the Possum Wrasse.

And if it was an accident, why post the video? I think you're giving the jerks too much credit... Plus, if they forgot the wrasse was in there, I can't even imagine the mistakes they must make on a daily basis. So I don't exactly see forgetfulness as a valid excuse.
