Happy Friday, Reefers!

Today we explore the capabilities of each filter on our RODI units, to determine whether they are able to remove ammonia on their own, as a whole, or even at all.

This week we're also asking the question:
-Do you know if your city treats with chloramines?
-If so... What city and state?

We have chloramine 10 months of the year here In Manassas Va.. just added a extra carbon filter to my 6 stage RO, using the BRS 1 micron carbon block to hopefully help remove them.

Another informative video.. think I’ll add extra DI canisters for total of 4 first being two Cation and Anion followed by twin mix bed’s

Yes, they do.

Uh, Minneapolis, MN. :)

I've been using the 150g 6 stage water saver for a number of years, what I tend to do is make 50g of water and let it sit for a few days before using it. I had always noticed outgassing so I figured it eventually was coming out of solution, but I don't know if that's a correct guess.

I can switch to a 3 stage DI set up though, if that works better.

Separate question - can I get some new stickers for my RODI system? :)

@Ryanbrs @randyBRS

So this video kind of worried me as I admittedly don’t fully understand the chemistry.

I just bought a 6 stage deluxe RODI from BRS. Am I covered for this ammonia issue with that system or no? The video confused me because it sounded like the standard 5 stage setup only removed half the ammonia. Did I understand that right? I was planning on setting it up and using for the first time this weekend. Do I need to be worried?

Los Angeles , CA, DWP water. So much chloramine. I treat all my RODI product water with water conditioner to get rid of any residual chloramine. Carbon blocks do not last long against chloramine. I no longer cook with or drink the city water; only use it for bathing.
