Now that the summer is just about here please be careful what your dog picks up outside, like Corn On the Cobb, over here in the U.K this is a very common problem with dogs

Donky, your posts put a smile on my face. Sorry to hear about your girl. I have a Pit/Lab mix that I would do anything for... including paying a $740 vet bill for a poor choice on my part. I bought Barry a pork bone from a local pet store. Apparently, the pork bones have shards that can slice up the intestines and cause (best try at spelling) hemoragic gastro enterititus. Yup. $740! Hope she learns to avoid the sweet sweet corn on the cob.

Hi

So sorry to hear about Barry  I really hope hes okay now. You have to be really careful what you feed your dogs these days and to my cost what they pick up outside.

I couldn't agree more. I learned the hard way. I thought I was being a good owner bringing him home a treat from the pet store... Boy was I wrong. That was back in 2009. He is a very healthy boy these days. No more pork bones though!

The vet told me as I was handing him the shirt of my back that he sees lots of dogs come in to his surgery with problems like this, some are not so lucky and don't make it,and other have to be put to sleep because there owners cant afford the operation.

Fortunately I had a spare kidney. It was worth it though. I love my pooch. Would gladly perform the operation on myself again. :)

What's the song on the first vid? I love it!

Glad to hear Lara is okay. She's so adorable.

Hi

Its called Corn on the Cob by James Kochalka

I don't work for a living
I don't need a job
I'm just doin' my own thing
Eating corn on the cob

Sweet, sweet corn on the cob, yeah
Sweet, sweet corn on the cob, my friends
Sweet, sweet corn on the cob, yeah
Sweet, sweet corn on the cob and then

The sun is always shinin'
The breeze is nice and cool
And I am always smilin'
I'm smiling at you

Sweet, sweet corn on the cob, yeah
Sweet, sweet corn on the cob, my friends
Sweet, sweet corn on the cob, yeah
Sweet, sweet corn on the cob. The End.

Just hope he never gets sick again as your going to have no kidneys left
