Just finished my stand! Borrowed many ideas but I wanna do it right this time! W some help of friends and this community, I just recieved my new sump also, I have all my plumbing ready but you never know, I just ordered my alufab w integrated led lighting underneath si I can light up my sump for company! I'm stoked!! Question so im doing everything I hope correct so tge first water what are you adding besides salt ,Ph up? What's the target number and what test do I get that I can rely on thanks for listening all your ideas help and thank you PEACE

Are you talking about your initial tank cycle?

You don't need to add chemicals to your water unless you want to do a Fishless cycle (Dr. Tim's One and Only cycle) or if you are using real Live Rock.

You can get by with API for the initial tank cycle, but I would ditch those quickly and get Salifert RedSea or Hanna kits to test your water.

So yes initial, here's my plan, make the salt water,add rock to it, dr Tom's and the ammonia I know name can't think of right now, then put micro brittle stars till water is good rock is cured add to sump cure more rock for display, but when do I add Ph up or not what makes water correct or is that all and water changes thanks GUMBI
