Hi, I recently purchased a used Apex system, it came with a DOS, 2 cor pumps, and ATO, 1 energy bar EB832, and 2 older version EB8 if Im not mistaken, unfortunally the newer energy bar didnt work and I'm using the old ones. For some reason this DOS pump is not showing as a "module on my system" it lights up, both pumps work if I press their buttons manually but I'm not able to get it to show on my apex system. I tried to take it to my LFS where they have Apex and the same thing happened, tried to follow a chatgpt instructions, like unplug the whole neptune system and the DOS and then re-connnect but still no signal. Has anyone come across this same situation? any advise?

Thanks!

Do you have it hooked up to the base unit? When I had neptune I had mine hooked up to the EB832, I don't believe the EB8's have aquabus ports, so I'm guessing you must have it cabled to the apex controller.

Thank you very much, I've tried both, to the power bar and directly to "the brain" but none of them worked, I also have several Aquabus cables, none of them on great shape, but I was able to get the Cor15 pumps to work with them, so I removed cable problems - I guess -.

I’d probably reach out to their support then.

Yes I've had that occur.

Unfortunately it was not user-repairable. You should reach out to Neptune but I expect they will want you to ship it to them for repair.

I strongly recommend you not to leave the DOS plugged in when in this state, because it's behavior can be very unpredictable. It may decide to turn on and dose an unknown amount of whatever is in those dosing lines. I've heard of them dosing the entire container of 2-part, AFR, or kalkwasser, which could cause a major tank crash.

Does it show in the modules tab ? Also your not using both the Aquabus cable (usb) and 1Link cable are you ? Theres two methods to hook up a DOS :
1. 1Link Cable
2. Aquabus cable and AC adapter
Hi, It does not shows up in the modules tab. I'm only using an aquabus cable, since I don't have a newer version power bar, Im stuck with aquabus, not 1link cable.

Sorry if you know this already but you need to use a power supply cable as well as "aquabus" cable if going that route. The "aquabus" cable does not provide power. The 1link cable does.

In other words, at the DOS, you need two cables going in:
  1. USB (or aquabus) cable that connects to your Apex AND
  2. a barrel plug for the 24V (IIRC) power brick that is plugged in to a power outlet
Also I know the aquabus cable looks like a regular USB cable and I've used regular USB cables instead of the $$$ aquabus cable from Neptune (worked fine). However I've read some normal USB cables won't work, especially long ones. Aquabus uses 12V instead of the standard 5V.

Thanks, yes I've always tried with a power source connected to te doser, Im considering getting a new aquabus, and maybe a 1link, otherwise will have to send this unit to support, just wanted to check out somebody have had this same tipe of problems with a DOS.
