I have been dosing kalkwasser with slow-output BRS dosing pump for a frag-only QT system. I have been dosing some Hikari coralific delite coral food powder about every 2-3 days after lights are out. I discovered that I need to dose nitrates regularly since there are no fish for this tank. Would it be a crazy idea to mix some nitrate liquid solution (stump-killer) into my kalkwasser to make some "dirty" kalkwasser to fulfill 2 of my needs. I guess some may say that I need to dose more food and forget adding the nitrate solution.

It would be fine to put some sodium or potassium nitrate into limewater (kalkwasser). I’d personally use a good grade product.
