My first batch of phyto will be ready in a few days and was wondering if I could get a feel for how much to dose per gallon per day. I don't think the guidlines on DT's apply because it's been concentrated.

Can't say there really is solid guidelines for this. Take what you produced, split it in half to keep the culture going. The half you keep just dose over the course of the week before you need to split again.

Tagging along. Just bought a bottle of Live phyto myself. Instructions on the bottle was like a drop per gallon or something like that. Will check when home.

Not looking for a solid guideline. Just trying to get a feel for how much other home brewers are dosing.

I do the nano culture myself from Poseidon reef. A guess for me though, doing a little less. A guideline they suggested was 5ml per 10 gallons three to four times a week.

I'd run a gallon through my tank every week that I was culturing it, 65 gallon tank. Split out randomly throughout the week. Or if I forgot for a while, most of a gallon all at once as I was splitting the next week's batch, don't do this, tank gets cloudy.

Sod Buster and Js.aqua, have the cultures been concentrated at all?

.5-1 ml/gal is WAY less than I expected.

Thanks, that makes me comfortable using what I'll be culturing each week.

Your using there kit system? If so your feedback would be great I am on the fence about it for phyto and pods

I dose 2-3 ml per day per gallon in my reef aquariums and 1-2 in my mostly fish aquariums (I have GSP in my “FOWLR” tanks). I also dose pods weekly, not that I have to as they are established but we always harvest a little extra for that last minute order and whatever we don’t ship goes to our babies.
