Hi all,
Looking to start dosing. But before I jumped into it I was hoping to get feed back about your current dosing pumps.

Let's see them and get the pro's and con's.

Thank you.

This is the first dosing pump i've ever used so I can't compare it to any others.
These are my opinions (pros/cons) with the GHL Doser 2.

Pros:
1) No more manual dosing. This pro applies to ANY dosing pump.
2) 24v stepper motors for accurate dosing down to .1mL with 4 different speed options. I've found low speed allows approx. 6mL/minute and high speed around 45mL/minute.
3) Allows up to 8 manual doses a day at any time you desire. Automatic dosing up to 150x a day.
4) Has ports for magnetic stirrers. Allows adjustments for how many stirs a day and for how long as well as RPM adjustments.
5) Can communicate and program the unit through USB or wifi/internet.

Cons:
1) Price.
2) Must have a Windows computer for initial setup. Not a problem for most people but I abandoned Windows many moons ago.

The cost was a little bit tough to deal with. After thinking about how much I might lose in livestock due to a failure of an inexpensive chinese unit, which may likely work without any issues, I decided that it was worth the extra money to me. I wanted something with stepper motors for the accuracy which, unfortunately, gets you into the more costly units.

I use GHL Doser 2. I decided to use the GHL doser because it can be used with a smart phone app to set up and run. An it has a very durable motor and pump. You can buy it in 2 ,3 and 4 pump configurations. An you can add pumps to the 2 and 3 models.
I now have 11 GHL dosing pumps. That do Auto water changes and ATO Also additives are added to the tank and in the future amino acids.

If you are any good with electronics, an arduino controlled dosing pump isn't that difficult. I developed mine in a few hours (although perfecting the code took more time) utilizing components purchased mostly from Amazon.

The Dos is also big and takes up a lot of room.
The cost is about the same DOS two head the only way it comes is 300 dollars
A GHL doser 2 two head unit is 339 dollars. But it does require you to buy an Apex to use it either and you can expand to two more heads.
