Dosing Stress Coat for fish with thin slime coats - how long does it last?

API Stress Coat says you can do a double dose (1ml/gallon) in order to enhance the slime coat of fish.

How long would this dose/fish's slime coat last?

Is there an amount or schedule that you could dose periodically to help fish like tangs with thinner slime coats be better equipped to thwart off parasites?

All of the polymer coating products are more tonics than anything else. They should not be used to prevent or cure any disease. Their primary use is new water treatment and during fish transport. Remember - anything that can coat the fish's skin is also going to coat their gills., never over dose these products.
