Double mounting on single arm?

Hello, I have the old Noopsyches. I was wondering if anyone has mounted two lights to a single arm?
Here is my aquarium:

I have seen this on FB, however that person is also using a wire for additional insurance I guess.
Anyone done something similar long term?
