Dragon Soul problem. Shedding something

just added this dragon soul to the tank. acclimated it and let it sit on sand bed for 2 days. seemed to be doing okay, then day 3 i had to move around a ton of stuff in the tank to catch a fish, which causes some rocks to fall or rub against the edges of this piece. i put the rock back together and put the favia up on this rock a couple inch above sand bed. its low and very slightly shaded. for 2 daysnow i hvae noticed this shedding of some sorts on it. i blow it off but always comes back.it has stretched pretty long about 5 inches or so at some points. any ideas?

The favia itself looks fine. If it got scratched it should heal. As for the long string thing. It may not be from the favias. A have several critters that send out feelers at light. They never seems to hurt anything. Could that be what it is? A dip may kill what ever it is as well as aid the favia where it got scratched up.
