I’m trying to set up an appointment to get my tank drilled and the person drilling is concerned that three holes on one pane is too many and may compromise the structural integrity. I’m hoping to do a 800gph modular marine overflow since that’s what I have (requires 2 holes for 1” bulkheads) and then I’d like to drill the return line to keep a clean rimless look. This would likely be a 3/4” bulk head.

The aquarium is a Mr. Aqua 25g cube so the glade is 5mm thick.

Is the original plan viable, or should I go a different route?

My 20” cube has 3/4” drain and 1/2” return. I would agree with the hole driller with 3 holes is 1 too many. Are you plan for side panel holes or bottom panel? Even 3/4” on both return and drain should work fine as well.
