If you can you need to get your hands on some RO water. You local grocery store will sell it but the gallon at the very least. Slowly add the RO water to your tank while testing the salinity to get it back into range. Tap water introduces phosphates at high levels which creates serious unwanted algae outbreaks. RO water that you add salt to or premixed salt water from your LFS is the way to go.

They'll eat some of it but you want to find the source. I'd test the tap water out of curiosity to see what's in it. I used tap water in my tank at first and I didn't have very good results. Can you get ro water anywhere nearby? If not, you might want to invest in a ro/di unit, which will convert your tap water into ro water. Good luck!

I've found for drip acclimating, floating the bag in my sump is the best option for keeping the temperature the exact temperature of your tank. I ususally take whatever I am acclimating out of the bag and putting it in a paint-cup and putting that in my sump. I then run the drip-line (super thin IV line with flow control wheel - you can get them from your LFS for like $20) into the cup. You can acclimate slowly over hours if you want without the temperature fluctuating because your sump is keeping the right temperature.

Before I had a sump, I would fill up a 5g bucket with water and put an extra heater in it before I went to the LFS that was set at the same temperature as my tank. When I got back, it would be exactly the temperature of my tank and I would just float the bag in there and drip with tank water.
