Duncans dying or pooping help!!!

Got home from work and found the duncans closed up mouths opened and brown stringy stuff coming out do they poop like candy canes or is this bad ??

They are expelling a strain of its host zooxanthellae. Often times, corals will do this as a last ditch effort for survival. But they also do this to switch out one strain for another that is better apt to handle the current conditions it is facing.
