Why do some corals thrive while others struggle one time look great and then poof gone. They are literally inches apart , and not aggressive. Their traits/ needs are the same from research

There was a quote on a reef podcast that said "Sometimes the better looking the sps is, the closer it is to death"..
That happened to me a lot and I think about that quote for a long time.
