I messed up! Bought an Ecotech battery on FB. It works great.. but I have Gyre.

Ok- no biggie. They work the same so I was going to splice the cables to work (I've experience with this, no worries there.)

BUTTTT it seems the Ecotech pumps have a separate input for the batteries. The Gyres do not.

I have an older battery where the power supply splits. One to the battery and one two the Gyre.

This of course means that my gyre would run at 12 V (well 15.5v if I use the included eco tech PSU). And I’m OK with that because it turns out that my Gyre has been running on a 12V psu. It’s a 30g tank and at 24v even 20% is too much so at 12v I ran it at 40.

I’m pretty sure this is what I’m going to wind up doing… So here are my questions for anybody that has experience with these devices:

The gyre can run at either 12 V or 24V. I assume 15 V would not be a problem?

If it is a problem, is there any issue with the battery being charged at 12 V? According to Ecotech it’s supposed to be a 12V input anyway.
