Hey guys is this pump good for continuous dosing? I cannot find a definative answer anywhere I search. Looking to use a pump for my denitrator instead of the throttle valve on it.

I dont think so there internal rubber tend to leak. Neptune DOS and Kamoer FXP are stronger

Yes and I wouldn't trust it for anything else. I'd also consider a different brand. Mine has messed up multiple times almost crashing my tank and by the time I realized what it was, it was like a month out of warranty. Ecotech told me to pound salt. I can buy another. The date and time change randomly throughout the day so it randomly doses random amounts depending if it thinks it's 3am in 1930 or 9 pm in 2011. I will 100000% go with kamoer next time.

+1 on the Kamoer. If you want to go high-end and completely trouble free then check out Masterflex. They cost a bit of coin but are truly the best. Just my $.02.

We use versas for awcs. They run 20 minutes 12x per day.
Id use a brs dumb pump 1.1 ml or 50 per minute if you can make those rates work.

I have 6 Versas operating in my tank.
One of them is continuously dosing Kalk. Basically pushing RO water through a Kalk Reactor.
The other 5 are dosing with set intervals: afr, aminoacids, trace elements, etc.
They have been running for 2 years now. Silent and reliable.

I had DOS (first gen) before and those were loud!

The only problem I have with the Versas is that I can not control them remotely. They only connect Bluetooth with the app.

And I thought it was bad for me when my Radion lights do the same. That is absolutely unacceptable for a dosing pump to have these kinds of errors keeping time. I would steer very clear of any Ecotech/Aperture products, as they have made it quite clear that they don’t even see this as an issue.

I’ve been using Kaomer peristaltic pumps for the past two years and have no complaints. Though I’m just using their pumps with my own controller.

Thanks for the reply’s. Looks like I might be adding one of the new DOS units. I’ll look into the Kamoer also.

In case you weren't already aware Neptune is also owned by Aperture.
