My first thought is snail but I don't know of any salt water snail that lays egg bundles in a gelatenous mass;that's usually a fresh water snail thing. My second thought is possibly a bunch of small tunicate colonies? Not sure though since I've never seen anything like that before.
Well, actually I was putting all my coral back in my new tank after a friend was holding them. From memory I think he had a Chromis, clowns, anthias, tang, mandarin. But these eggs were on the bottom of the rock. It was sitting in a small plastic crate at the top of his tank so it was away from most things in the tank.
The size is similar to like Bangai eggs but it doesn't really look the same to me. They look pretty big for most inverts but IDK. Hopefully someone will recognize them, its always fun to find interesting stuff.
I agree. they do kind of look like Cardinal eggs but the guy did not have cardinals. I looked very close at them today and some of the sacks were more developed thn others. Some of them you could make out a VERY small translucent "something" attached to the yock. the translucent part is even smaller than the yock (the yellow dots)
The sacks are oddly shapped. the Middle of them caves in to give a doughnut kind of shape.
