What is this? It’s attached on only one end. About 2”. Slimy texture. Nothing new in tank in well over a year. I do have a pair of clowns but I thought they laid on rocks?

Do you have any close up pics of it under white light? The blue lighting makes ID'ing things really difficult.

Looks like something that spoiled or decayed . Check to assure you are not missing any fish and remove this substance
