I'm having problems with my Eheim tube heater. I've calibrated it as the instructions say and it's still heating when it shouldn't be. Any ideas on what to do? Is it possible I got a faulty heater?

“Having Problems” is a little vague…can you expond?

Which calibration and test are you performing?
Bucket test?
Is there adequate flow in the testing area?
What device are you using to check calibration.
Does the heat never turn off?
Is it overshooting and if so by how many degrees.
Are you using any controller?

It was new when I started the tank 6 months ago.

I'm performing the calibration test they have in their videos.

Adequate flow in the testing area, it's right next to my pump.

I have multiple thermometers that are showing 80 degrees+

The heater is turning on and off as it's suppose to but it shouldn't be on at all since I'm setting it below 80. I want the water at 78, I calibrated it at 78, and the water is at 80 and the heater is still going off and on.

No controller, just the heating unit plugged int.
