Has anyone been looking into the effect of the super strong El Nino on the coral reefs? I've been looking into it and have seen that when we have a strong El Nino's or La Nina's we have mass bleaching happen. I was wanting to see what peoples thoughts were on this subject.

Hey cwb_reeftank! It's cool that you excited about little science investigation in this field!;)
Look what I found:
"The world's largest fishery collapsed due to overfishing during the 1972 El Niño Peruvian anchoveta reduction. During the 1982–83 event, jack mackerel and anchoveta populations were reduced, scallops increased in warmer water, but hake followed cooler water down the continental slope, while shrimp and sardines moved southward, so some catches decreased while others increased".
So El Nino has to effect in the coral reefs! El Nino it's big thing for ecosystem!

When to mix up fish meal: When was the last time you tried a different brand of food for your reef?
