Hi! Welcome to my tank journal.

I've been reefing for about years now and I've slowly developed a fascination with acropora and other SPS.

The tank itself is an used ELOS Midi that I picked up from a local reefer. I subsequently used a kitchen cabinet from the Ikea SEKTION line as the stand for my tank. I've hoped to create a SPS tank, with a built in frag tank in the cabinet, for future coral propogation. The tank itself is only 3 months old, but the rock used in the tank is a combination of 4 year old live rock as well as the TLF Staxx rocks.

The tank initially started as a UNS 60U.

I went through a series of STN/RTN

And then I eventually broke the Mame overflow, which prompted me to pick up the Elos Midi.

Prior to aquascaping the tank, I sketched out designs on pen/pad

I then sketched it up digitally:

Then came scaping it for real.

And finally, here's what it looks like.

I picked up a cool maricultured millepora from my LFS. It's pretty :celeb1::celeb1:

Here is a nighttime shot of my YR Peachy Blues and LA Lakers. 1 week ago, I wouldn't have dared post this photo due to bryopsis covering the colony. 5 days of fluconazole later, and the bryopsis on this colony is gone!

I can't seem to get my red planet to turn red. It only has slight hints of pink under actinics. Currently under ~400 PAR.

My panda goby finally got big enough that he wouldn't slip through the overflow slots! Moved him into the display tank.

Some assorted coral shots under 3B+, 1P+ T5s

And finally but not least, the JF homewrecker is pushing out branches.

Man, it's been a while since I updated this thread. A lot has changed in regards to my tank. It nearly crashed went I went on vacation in May, and I came home to a ton of STNing corals.

We then moved to a new house, during which I set up a new system, and changed my lighting around as well.

Now the tank is plugging away again.

I ended up downsizing and consolidating my tank a month ago. Now I’m running a Red Sea reefer 170.
