It worked okay for me.

I had 4 of the grey kits and they worked well, I needed more and decided to try the pink version, it was really gritty and didn’t seem to be as strong. It’s really strong so far, but yet to be tested in saltwater. I’m debating using some glue masters thin and painting over some of the joints to add some extra protection.

have you tried thin superglue + marco rock powder before? i was building a scape and ran out of mortar and ended up trying the superglue and powder method and never used the mortar ever again

I ended up just getting a new mortar kit. I did take thin set glue and cover some of the existing mortar joints in hope of just making them a bit more resistant to cracking or deteriorating in the tank, not sure if it will do anything, but worth the shot and no harm

Acryl 60 is what Marco uses.
It will bond without it but It will not be as strong and may crumble later.
