I have a emerald crab that I placed in aquarium when I had some bubble algae now that I no longer have this algae I think that his crab has turned cannibalistic. Short of breaking down a reef to find it, is there maybe a way to trap it? DIY trap maybe.

stick something on the end of a stick like a piece of shrimp or squid that's hard for the crab to get off. Hold it just out of reach of the crab and it might grab on to the stick all the way as it tries to eat the shrimp. Works for Blue Crabs out here on the Gulf Coast :D I know a guy that uses chicken necks tied to bamboo poles to fish them and stone crabs off of oyster reefs.

The water bottle trick worked for me, google it. All you need is a water bottle a cutting utensil and some food to entice the little guy.

Don't know the size of your tank or configuration, but I had to remove 2 emeralds due to their actual size. They became huge within a few months time. Even in my 125gal, they got too big. I used a long skinny net and forced them onto one of my live rocks, then just pulled the whole rock out and put into a bucket. Good luck!
