Ive read that emerald crabs may eat your corals. Which corals in specific can they have an appetite for?

i have them in my tank and they do not really eat the corals but they bug my scans like crazy, especially after I feed them. They pry open their mouth and steal the food

Crabs are oppurtunists. As such they are looking for the easiest meal possible. Scavenging for uneaten food and algae is easier than eating a healthy coral. Stealing food from a coral is easier than eating a healthy coral. However, if a coral is struggling and there is not much food available an emerald crab may go after it.

I have a bubble algae outbreak in a nano. Need an emerald but am afraid that it will eat my coral. Ive read that female emeralds are better. True?

I've had zoanthid frags and a pipefish disappear after putting emerald crabs in a tank.
