New tank UNS R120...6 wks since start up. Marco dry rock and argononite sand cycled recently. Added some sargassum shrimp ( Leander species I caught) Several kinds of macro algae, blue and red hermits Asterina snails and Mex turbos for GHA/ diatoms.

Tonight when lights out I find this worm ( med gray on topside, white on bottom) attracted to a flashlight beam. It fought the strong current of my pumps for 10 mins before collapsing on the gravel bed. You can what appears to be a forked mouth by expanding the still pics.

Is this guy safe? No fish or corals yet 20260518_225205.jpg

Absolutely sure not any kind of pod, flat wirm like structure, or rather it appeared half circle shape along its length rather than flat. Unfortunately hard to get in focudms it undulates so fast in the water column.

If that's a worm, then I think I'd be afraid to stick my finger in the water with it.

Could you net it out and get a close up photo of it in a dish with very shallow water?

Looks like a young bristle worm. I have same things in my tank. I see them swimming around at night after the fish have gone to sleep.
