Air stone more effective at low output

I've never used a heater before in either my phyto or pod cultures, unless it is super cold in your home you should not need it. That doesn't look safe to me.

I just put the heater in cause I had nowhere else to go. It is getting removed when my copepods arrive

I don't use air or a heater in my pods, and from experience they do much better in a shallow square tub than a jar.
