I have a 20 gallon long aquarium with a black rim. I'm looking for recommendations for a HOB refugium. I'd love one with a light, but if not. What are you using for lights?

I'm also looking for a wavemaker as well. I would like to get some corals down the road. At the very least, a bubble-tip anemone for my clowns. Getting corals is not something I'm going to do until my tank has been established at least for a few months and I get a reef testing kit.

For smaller tanks I like sicce voyager nano powerheads, they out out a wide gently stream as opposed to a strong narrow beam of water, I use a pair in my 15 gallon, I would always suggest that 2 is better than 1.

I don't have experience with hob refugiums, but politely curious why you want one? My personally feeling is they are unnecessary and a bit overkill on small tanks.

For reef testing kits, don't get API, I suggest salifert is a good brand.

I personally really like the Red Sea test kits especially for people who are just starting out. They are easier to read and are accurate enough for any new reefer. If budget isn’t an issue I would look at getting Hanna checkers for ease of use.

For wave makers I personally prefer Ecotech. 2 MP 10’s turned down in a tank that size will move some water and do anything you’ll ever need as you progress in the hobby. I know they are a little more expensive than others however their quality will out last other cheap options. Tunze also makes some very nice options for smaller tanks as well.

I thought refugium helps with filtering your water. I'd also like to provide some additional space or copepods.

I have the red sea salt water test kits. They seem pretty accurate and they didn't break the bank.

I would love to use the Hanna tests, but unfortunately budget is an issue.
