Don't forget to post pics of your new in/out lines once you get them installed. (I suppose you should post them over on your build thread.)

Oh, and apologies to @Erin O for hijacking her thread with this stuff. In my defense, it's all completely and totally @Magellan and @sfin52 fault! ;Hilarious
I'll let it slide, because I still learn from you even when you do hijack my thread :) And I can TOTALLY see how it's all @sfin52 and @Magellan fault (shakes my head no) LOL! ;)

Your welcome. If you get any put it on an island they can take over the tank
I was reading about that! The article I was reading said that it would even grow on the walls of the tank. Crazy! I like that they're easy, though. And I love the way they look. Definitely going to put them on the "If I ever get the nerve to try corals" list :)

Ok, its not fish related, but it's REALLY cold today, so I wanted to post a pic of one of our hottest days this past summer. This is my daughter, Evie. Last May, she started taking riding lessons and I am now living vicariously through her. I always told myself that I would never push my kids into an activity that they don't want to do, but I lied. I REALLY wanted her to start riding, so I made it happen. Luckily, she loves it so far lol

I'm glad she loves riding. She looks like she is having a blast. Riding a horse is special.
sometimes the only way kids do activities is if we push them. It's when we push them to continue the activity when they don't like it that gets us into trouble.

I agree. I really hope she decides to stick with it. Unless, of course, I get back into riding myself. If that happens, I won't have to beg and plead with her to stick with it if she decides to to quit lol

In all my 52 years, I've never been on a horse.

@sfin52, do you use the flow from your canister as part of your total flow in the tank?

Speaking of flow and canister filters; I decided to change up the intake and return on my FX6 in the 90g FW yesterday. I'll snap some pics, if you guys like, after lights come on.

I will have to get a build thread going and be a real part of the site
Still no build tread your slacking sir.
If I were to use, say, 50lbs of dry rock and 15lbs of live rock, would I get enough of that diversity (these numbers are just to make it easier for me to understand; I'll plan to have 100lb or more, total, of rock)?

Also, and I know that it all comes down to personal preference, should my rock be all along the tank, in the middle? Or should I have it all to one side so there's plenty of open area to swim? Maybe on either side, with the middle open? I kind of like the idea of the rock being on either side with the middle open, because that might help delineate territories. But I may be wrong about that lol
Top is my new 90
Bottom is the 75.
Same rock is in both. You can see how even though I could add more rock In the 90 how open it is.

It's the only flow I have in my FW 90g. I built a larger intake and a spray bar for ther return using 3/4" pvc. The spray bar is about 42" long and in three sections which are connected with unions. I did not use any cement so I can adjust each output section of the bar by aiming it. You'll see in the crappy pics that the furthest section is aimed up toward the surface, the middle section is aimed down at about the middle of the front glass and the section closest to the return line is aimed almost straight out. I've already noticed that I have practically no dead spots in the tank now.

I forgot that you have your FX on your FW tank, not your SW. I'm glad you posted those pics, though. I showed them to my husband and it sounds like he's going to try to do something similar in our 125g. All thanks to you ;) :)
I'm trying to figure out if I'll have too much flow with the Jebao Cross-Flow SCP-90 and the flow from the SunSun. I want adequate flow, but I don't want to blow my fish all around the tank. What do you think?

Well, I do not know the gph rating on your SunSun. However, if it's a 304b or similar, I would advise against using 3/4 pvc as they'll be too big to get adequate flow into the tank. Try to stay as close to possible as whatever the ID is of the stock tubing. As for the canister + wave maker on a 125, I believe you'll be fine.
