Does anybody happen to know how I could replace my Eshopps Medium Cube sump with a Trigger Systems 20 Cube sump? The Eshopps has dual inlets which I have my plumbing setup for whereas the Trigger sump only has one.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

for that style sump (i had one for awhile) i just dremelled out the corner with the mounting hole and ran the tubes directly into the filter sock, it makes it much easier to take out the pipes with unions, then to take out the filter sock. Otherwise you can use a pvc t connector and join the lines at the mounting hole above the filter sock.

I like the overflow design of the eshopps but it is a pita that they make a proprietary rectangular filter sock

That’s clever! I think I’ll do that. Joining the lines sounds like a more ideal approach. Thank you!

I couldn’t agree more. It truly doesn’t seem to have adequate water flow passing through it as it tends to rise

Yeah it is the Aquavitro Division 125. It’s a killer skimmer. I replaced my Nyos with it and I’ve been blown away by the performance and the skimmate it pulls.

The filter sock design is rather interesting though. I’m not completely sure how I feel about it

Very nice, i like the design of the skimmer and option to do recirculating is nice too. I had the eshopps x120 and then won a nyos 120 in a raffle (lol) and have been using that. Honestly nyos performance hasnt blown me out of the water and eshopps performed almost as well. Had it for a few years now so always like to know the new ones incase my nyos ever dies on me.
I would think the sock is really there just for people without baffles in their sumps to kill all the microbubbles coming out, not as much for people with nicer sumps
