Par is 80 at the sand and 200 at the top of the rock. 3 gen 5’s T5 hybrid. Flow is 11k gph via 6 power heads in tank and 2800 gph turn via sump.
32 torches
Aussie
Malaysia
Indo
No Tonga yet.
8 octos
6 hammers
A couple of weird euphyllia items haven’t seen lol.
Bought the domain euphyllialife.com will in time make the site live to show the progress of the tank. Goal is 150-200 in the tank. Will post more as I remember. Have 10 this week coming pending hurricane delaying shipments in from Jersey or Cali.

I have 7 torches which include Ausi, Indo and Malaysian. Do you find any troubles with torches from different regions being in close proximity and touching each other lightly? I noticed one of mine was a little closed up today.

Beautiful tank and euphyllia collection.

I personally don’t. I know the saying it can happen but haven’t experienced it. If it was to happen would argue it’s the indos who win due to length of polyp. I have indo’s and Malaysians next to each other at the current moment. Will move them around in time. Not sure if I want Aussie/indo/Malaysia of the same color scheme together or just a Malaysia rock, indo, Aussie. Could height based with Aussie lower and indo up top. If they are happy I don’t see them battling honestly. Clean water and good light, why fight is my thought process.

32 torches already.. definitely following along!
4 more today from corals anonymous…won’t order from there again. I can promise that. Heavy dip regiment and scan of the coral. Arrived warm and bad packaging. (Weird because you can ship corals cold with minimal issues). Noticed what I thought brown jelly so immediate metro (don’t know the full bottle name) dip, restore dip, coral rx and back to metro. Will pull for with hazel dip and more restore if another round is needed. Ciliates, sponges, worms and a slug of some sort from the dip. Another 4 I bought yesterday to be sent this week, 2 more in jersey. Another 4-5 at my local fb dealer lol.

I’m noticing that each region seems to have similar colors just varying polyp size. Haven’t dived the regions to actually know but that’s my goal. For example common green indo. It’s pretty, flows well, Hardy, etc. well they have the Aussie version the Malaysian version and I’m willing to bet a Tonga one.
Scroll fo aussies with green mouths, you have a undo version and I have a Malaysian with a green mouth seperate from polyp color.
It’s a theory though at this point ‍♂️

1. Newest order is a round of banana’s going in. 3 more from Jersey corals (fancy names) and a rainbow and Knicks from locals. This week additions are another 7 from wholesalers, 3 from lfs and 2 from local reefers.

dip regiment is:
Coral rx
Bath
Bayer
Bath
Iodine
Bath
Koral recover
(Overkill I know but all euphyllia tank. Can’t risk my investment dying due to one bad coral)

2. A current shot of the tank.

Other notes:
Using cipro from another post I found on the forum to treat for potential BJD. Don’t have it but just incase.

Starting to make food. Goal is spawn in tank.

notable items I might try:
Running light cycles of 5 hours on and 3 hours off everyday to improve coral efficiency.

Hey just checking in on this Euphyllia tank, tried the domain above and not sure it is working/ up yet. Are you documenting all the coral regions and suppliers to map back to harvest region or collecting data? interested in total variations and specific data that goes with each. I have a few dozen or so torchs, hammers, frog spawns. Any how cool rock work that must have taken a min to get right! I really like it.

My site is not active, havent begin to build it yet. Still accumulating to 100 torches lol.
1. Documentation yes from aussie, Malaysia, indo, Tonga, a couple other regions that…you know.
2. Variations notes yes from polyp size/construction/length/girth/appearance, base thickness/ height/amount before split , and lastly colors.
2a will work to induce spawning event in my tank. I’m shooting for my theory to be correct of the species will breed with all regions. Goal is a special variation only known to my tank. (I know crazy but a lot of science has gone into this and cost me a pretty penny plus days of my life lol.)
3. Rock work - bought from artreefrockph https://artreefrocks.com/

The progress thus far. Thinking I want more hammers on the sand. That way the eel can move and feel more hidden.

Food regiment until I make my own is from willows reef supplement line (no way shape or form am I associated with this company)

1. coral feast with skimmer turned off
2. Wait 10 minutes
3. 2 frozen cubes, 1 cap full of amino, 1 squirt of probiotic
4. Turn off return pump.
5. ghost feed all food into display.

repeated in the am and pm.

have stopped benepets, reef roids, and AB+ and switch to them directly. No nutrient spikes.

dosing method is core7 with jug one not being used as it’s magnesium. I do 1 ml at sunrise, 1ml at mid day ( light schedule) and 1ml at sunset.

3 radion g5 pros and t5. Moon and cloud coverage
flow is pulse: .05 second on, 1 second off.
2 mp 40’s at the rear bottom anti sync
4 neros with 2 on each side with anti sync.
2 cheap Amazon ones on pulse as well for the middle.
2 more neros to be installed at my return nozzle towards the bottom to push fresh oxygenated water.
Nyos skimmer
Apex I don’t use, haven’t tested in a week and well don’t plan to due to tank being happy.
Basketball size helping of Cheato.

I do use cipro for all new additions in the display directly of 500 mg eod dissolved. Yes there is a science or equation for it but I’m not skilled in that ability.

next additions will be wilds and off normal variants.

experimenting with color alteration not via increased par but with hormonal adjustments to the water.

strong proponent of t5 to add pink and orange as our leds do not have these colors but the ocean receives the full spectrum of rainbow and then it breaks at various depths.

sand par is 70-80

top of my rock is 220

this is based on euphyllia in the ocean.

could increase par and get more coloration but also reduces the polyp size. Could lower par more or remove green red and whites to get the polyp to extend further. Neither of which I agree with.
