Euphyllia propagation

So, I had a head of frogspawn that isn't doing too well. In fact, it's barely hanging on. I thought it was toast, but there is still a little sliver a green that has been hanging on for two weeks now. I've just left it alone, hoping it may recover in time.

I'm sure it's fairly common knowledge that euphyllia can propagate when a head begins to split, eventually resulting in two polps. However, I noticed these odd nodules on the stem when I bought the frag, not thinking much of it. It now appears that these nodules are turning into additional heads. There are little green dots on at least two of these nodules. Is it possible that euphyllia can also propagate by forming new polyps on the stem/skeleton of an existing colony?

Euphyllias can indeed grow heads at the base. I have a hammer doing that right now.

That's how it works, to my knowledge anyway, I've seen mine do this several times.

Most of the time they are so small they don't get light and the come and go unnoticed.

Well, if that's the case, then there are at least two forming right now :) I'll just leave them alone and see what happens!

I have 2 ( the size of a pencil eraser ) that formed at the base of an old stalk that had been dead for months.

Wow, awesome. I think I'll leave them alone for now, but I'm concerned they'll need more space as they grow. However, it's certainly nothing that warrants disturbing them right now.
