The Infamous Torch coral! A coral with amazing movement and a splash of color. There has been some amazing variations of this coral being introduced into the hobby over the past few years, and would love to see your beauties and have your tips on how to keep them happy. Medium to low light and medium to low flow, seems to be what my torch likes. I have a neon green with lime green tips that got to the size of a basketball before trimming it back. They need their space though, but it is by far one of my favorite pieces of coral (even though its not rare at all). I have seen my grab a piece of Mysis shrimp every blue moon, but I can never get it to really eat even with all the flow off and spot feeding it, so just good water params, light, and flow are all this coral needs. I will snap a photo tomorrow of my torch.

My tank is 30" tall and the LED's are about 8-10" off the surface of the water. I just took the pic with my cell phone so it's not really nice, but both torches are nice. The gold torch is the typical stubby fat tentacle torch and the green one I have never seen before. I bought it as a Todds torch at a store before they unbagged it, but you can clearly see it's not a Todds. IMO it's the anti-Todds. Bright green, but super uber stubby.I had a buddy over today and we were talking. If you had a 2.5 or 5g you could take a head of it and still have plenty of room for other corals, it's a true nano torch.

Yes these corals do have the ability to sting but with good amount of space there is no problems.
