I have noticed that towards the beginning of the light schedule when the blues are only on that my frogspawn extends much more than any other time. Should I extend the time the blues are on or should I increase the intensity of the blues across the whole schedule?

Not knowing your lights, I run my blues higher than my whites. White my new light I run my blues about %40 higher than my white, reads, and 35% higher than my greens.

its definitely an ok experiment to play with. if you have no meter. Take the blue up 10 or 20 and the whites down 5 or ten. from what ive seen white has more par generally at the same intensity.
this way you keep the same par and likely intensity, but just change spectrum.
