Evil Sponge Crab

I’ve had a sponge crab in my tank for over two months. It changed its sponge top once with a sponge off of the live rock. This evening after the lights went out I went and checked on the tank and the sponge crab was cutting my leather coral in half!!!!! He had to have been working on it for hours. I was able to catch him and throw him in the sump. I’ve never heard of a sponge crab cutting up a leather coral. There’s no way I can put him back in the tank. I’m hoping the coral heals and makes it. I’ll post pics tomorrow after I see the full damage.
