Except radium what other bulb

Hi ,

Am currently running 2 250 watt radium halides on magnetic ballast - sunlight supply in lumenarc reflectors . PAR is off the chart

However just wanted to know what other bulbs have you used on pulse start magnetic ballast ..

Coralife, Hamilton, XM – all looked pretty good, especially considering the price; none were as bright as the Radium, and to me this mattered to look more than other differences.

Unless you're switching for budget or supply reasons, I would not switch. ;)

Switch from Radium .. that's the last day I will reef probably !!!
Just wanted to know what other options are there as have a friend who wants to give me all the old unused bulbs to use if I wanted to try some of them ..

Definitely worth the experiment if you have access to them.

Get a light meter of some sort (lux or PAR) so you can take some measurements and compare the bulbs a bit more scientifically! Way cool if you are able to!!!
