Exotic Sea Hares

The sea hares we know generally come in brown, grey, green, or sometimes black with blue dots. But there are SO many species of sea hares and some are really nice, some of them are pink, others can be black with white highlights and speckles, and I honestly don't know why these haven't been imported as an alternative to impossible to keep nudibranchs. My main focus are Alypsia Parvula and Alypsia cf. Parvula, they can be so beautiful, and stay a manageable size. Alypsia Parvula not growing over 6 cm (think about that for your next nano)

Sea hares deserve more attention, I think the reason that nobody imports them is that nobody really cares about them. The general image of sea hare is ugly and colorless, so who's gonna waste their time picking out nice ones. I don't think these should be used as a last resort, I think they deserve to be the center of the cleanup crew.

The problem is they don't play nice with circulation pumps, no matter what color they are. ;)

Put some mesh over it and don't even worry about it, that's what I do with my brown sea hare

I've seen the second picture ones or a type like it in mass breeding pits in the ocean. It's a pretty gross spectacle ;)

Didn't want to be within 10ft of the orgy I saw going on lol I've never seen tuffs of slime cover the bottom of the ocean before.

I do think someone should get around to collecting some of these. If I could just get my hands on a few and some "waves" then I'll be loaded $$$

Do you have a nudibranch tank? I see all types of weird cool colorful interesting ones when I dive. Never bother to collect them though.

No, I wish I had a nudibranch tank, but nudibranchsare carnivores, and don't have maintainable diets :(
This is why I'm so obsessed with sea hares, since I was I think 9 years old nudibranchs fascinated me, and still do. But since I can't keep them I've been looking forever for the next best thing, at least until they find a way to feed nudibranchs for less than $25/week worth of sponge or coral.
