For those that use external skimmers, how high above your sumps water line do or can you keep yours?

Is 2 feet unreasonable?

For those that use external skimmers, how high above your sumps water line do or can you keep yours?

Is 2 feet unreasonable?

I keep mine so the the skimmer drain is just above the rim of the sump with the drain is under the water to keep the bubbles down. If your feeding with a pump it shouldn't matter how high it is.
